CINCINNATI -- The United Way annual fundraiser kicks off Wednesday on Fountain Square.More than 40 United Way partners are expected to participate in an Agency Fair. The event is expected to highlight how the contributions by donors and volunteers will be used.The fun will kick off at 11:30 a.m. with free food, stilt walkers, balloon artists and a performance by local band Airwave. The official program starts at 12:15 p.m. At that time, United Way will announce its fundraising goal. It wraps up at 1:30 p.m.
The United Way of Greater Cincinnati is committed to strategic priorities that aim to get at the underlying causes of area problems. It focuses on preparing children for kindergarten, ensuring youth succeed in school and helping families achieve financial stability. The organization funds more than 338 progarms at 164 agency and community partners.
